HOUSTON, TX., October 6, 2017 – TRIOSE Inc., has provided special discounted pricing on shipments sent to Houston Methodist, supporting Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. The company’s employees also held a special fundraiser to benefit Houston Methodist workers impacted by the storm. Ashley Dumas, TRIOSE Regional Account Executive, visited the health system to deliver the proceeds to John Walters, Houston Methodist, Director Corporate Supply Chain Logistics and Fleet Management.
“We’ve learned a lot from our experiences with crisis management,” said Gerry Romanelli, Executive Vice President of Business Development. “Having a contingency plan is paramount due to typically limited access to communication. TRIOSE can step in and engage all suppliers and carriers, functioning as the proxy between hospital and vendors.”
Hurricane Harvey, the first major hurricane to make landfall in the United States in 12 years, devastated the Houston area from late August into September. Natural disasters require the strength of a community to come together during the disaster, but the efforts must be maintained through the clean-up and recovery effort.
“Houston Methodist provided relief funds, financial assistance, lodging, and child care to employees to ensure they could continue to do what they do best – saving lives. Reading of the heroic efforts that their staff made while providing life-saving assistance to those in need was inspiring.” said CEO Carl “CJ” Joyner.
TRIOSE Inc., a nationwide supply chain management firm dedicated to providing healthcare solutions, has been partnered with Houston Methodist since 2013. In addition to the fundraiser, TRIOSE committed to providing reduced shipping rates on all disaster relief shipments to Houston Methodist, with 9 locations shipping over 13,000 lbs., so far.
“I knew that Harvey wouldn’t be able to keep Texans down,” said Joyner, an East Texas native & homeowner. “Contributing to the relief and recovery effort is a responsibility that we all bear. Coordinating that effort through Houston Methodist means it will be magnified by the great work that they do every day.”
