For the second year in a row, Triose Inc., Shillington, is No. 1 on the Greater Reading Top 50 fastest-growing businesses.
To some greater Berks regional companies, that would be honor enough.
However, the greatest pride C.J. Joyner, CEO, and Ira Tauber, president, have in Triose Inc. is not in making the list of fastest-growing private companies for the past two years, but in their Give Five charitable contribution program.
In 16 years, Triose Inc. went from a startup to sales of $45 million, its projected finish for the end of this year.
Joyner started the company alone in 1999 and worked from his home until Tauber joined him in 2003.
“It was in my home with a Bubble Jet printer,” said Joyner.
The team of 50/50 partners has a niche health care logistics business, with few competitors on the same level.
Tauber described what Triose does as efficiently managing movement of freight in and out of and within hospitals and reducing supply-chain costs to drive positive change in health care within the community.
In October, Triose moved from two buildings in Shillington to an 18,000-square-foot office along State Hill Road in Wyomissing. There is another 6,000 square feet available for more expansion.
The new headquarters has 53 employees, and a second location in the Bay Area of California houses 15 employees.
Triose serves more than 2,000 hospitals and health facilities in 43 states.
