Wyomissing, PA., July 29, 2019 – TRIOSE’s Enterprise Account Manager Nicole Mazzei-Williams is to be featured as a Fellow for the Association for Health Care Resource & Materials Management (ARHMM). Nicole has been a certified materials resource professional by AHRMM for the past three years. In order to reach fellow status, Mazzei-Williams had to submit a research paper to the fellow committee. “I applied in September and they accepted the premise of my paper,” says Mazzei-Williams. “I spent October through April working on the paper. I submitted the final and recently found out I was approved.”
Mazzei-Williams’ paper, titled Achieving Excellence in Healthcare Supply Chain Freight Management and Logistics, brings unbiased visibility to the best practices that hospitals and health systems should be employing. Overall, hospital margins are shrinking and improvements in supply chain management can help provide opportunities to engage cost savings.
The healthcare industry is constantly evolving, and health systems must re-evaluate their visibility in order to be operating efficiently. “You need to pull the right data to even begin to make educated decisions to improve your supply chain,” says Mazzei-Williams. “It is hard to justify change without data supporting your decision. As healthcare continues to evolve it will become even more data driven so that people can continue to make informed decisions.”
After Mazzei-Williams’ paper was approved by the fellow committee, the finalized version has been released as a white paper to all AHRMM members. “I have also posted it on LinkedIn,” says Mazzei-Williams. “I want others to have access to it so they can start evaluating their system’s supply chain as well. I hope it will help to open up improvement opportunities in health systems across the country.”
